I’m looking for sources, excluding Wikipedia, that describe the health benefits of eating peanut butter. It would be nice if the facts were specific to crunchy peanut butter, but it isn’t necessary. Peanut butter benefits compared to other popular foods would be awesome. Thanks!

-do you think that is perhaps time that our government considers rethinking where it puts our tax money? The US federal government gives subsidies, paid for like everything with tax dollars, to farmers that produce Dairy products, meat products, and grain products. There is no government support for farmers who grow fruits and vegitables (increasingly shown to be key to good health, and be less environmentally damaging than meat or dairy.)

Is it time we either go the Liberitarian way and get the government out of the food industry entirely, allowing free market forces to shape the prices and availability of food sources, or should we go the authoritarian way and provide the same subsidies to all farmers regardless of what they grow.
Thoughts?

Not trying to be funny, I had a male friend (i thought he was joking at the time) that said his dr. encouraged it for health reasons. Besides it feeling good and relieve stress are there studies that point out specific health benefits… I know women probably aren’t studied that much but is there a benefit for women as well

We used to have individual health insurance, and I would pay for it out of my own company (an S Corp). When we got insurance through my husband’s employer, I stopped reimbursing myself.
He is paid for by the company, and then it costs extra to add myself and our child.

I was just going to deduct health insurance premiums on our Sch A, but we don’t have enough other medical expenses to meet the limit.

Is it ligit to go ahead and reimburse myself the amount that it cost for the health insurance? Then it would be a business expense. Thanks.

Here’s what’s up. I do have a full-time job that offers benefits & healthcare and I was eligible to enroll, but my boss told me I had 60 days to enroll when I really had 30 days, so when I got around to enrolling, it was too late. Not a big deal. I was wondering if I have any other options outside of my job for healthcare?? Would I most likely not be eligible for Medicaid? I live with my parents, so will they count their income as well?

Some guy wrote a letter to the editor complaining about people who pay so much attention to their dogs and spend money on them when there are charities that need help. Some people have written in to tell him that while they own dogs they also contribute to charities, etc and how dare he tell them what their hobbies should be. I’d like to write a short response of my own mentioning health benefits since no one has touched on that subject yet.

Look at these votes she made:
She voted against providing seniors with a prescription drug benefit.
She voted against allowing people to save tax free for their out-of-pocket medical expenses.
She voted against medical liability reform so that docs are not forced out of practice by junk lawsuits.
She opposes leveling the playing field so that people who pay for health insurance out of their own pocket get the same tax break the big corporations get for providing health care benefits to their employees.
She’s against allowing people to shop for health insurance across state lines like we do with auto insurance so the consumers would have more choices and there’d be competition to get your business, give you more for less.
She’s voting for penalizing seniors who have those private health care plans through Medicare.

A big part of the healthcare and benefits issues with workers comes fromemployers who do not hire people full time, but rather part time for minimum wage. I think the US could benefit from uniionized labor in new sectors of industry, such as food service and a computer workers union.

How do you think the economic status in the United States would change with a minimum wage workers union demanding benefits or a walkout?

I recently suspected I was developing an ulcer, and my doctor gave me a prescription of an acid reducing medication. Immediately, my nausea and headaches went away, but also I feel like my digestion is better and have pretty much stopped having diarrhea as well.

How else did too much stomach acid negatively affect my health, and what other benefits could I experience?
Okram: nope. Because I wasn’t experiencing any pain (only nausea), he said to try the acid reducers for a month first.
