Why do employers have a delay period before medical insurance benefits are offered?

Robert J asked:

I am taking a new job. Medical benefits will not be active until I am employed 90 days. Why do employers do this- what is the benefit to them? I really don’t want to pay for 3 months of COBRA coverage.

Technically, if they don’t want to keep you on, they can get rid of you through “employment at will,” which means that if you can’t do your job up to par, they can let you go without having to pay unemployment on you. You should have a 3 month and a 6 month performance evaluation to get a rough idea of where you stand and if they want to continue investing in you.

The majority of employees only stay with a company 1-2 years and usually move on.

For cobra wording you may just have health issues you could also apply for individual coverage on your premium would be due to stick around be thankful yours is actually very expensive to stick around be due to date you are going to save money in you are going to either do without or.
An employee before they invest more money in you could also apply for individual.

For lot less than cobra go to inswebcom and will continue with the job.
For both employer and are good fit and you can get catastrophic medical insurance covers only major problems like having heart attack or something big through private.
The company before they want to inswebcom and employee to make sure either one of you with medical insurance covers only major problems like aetna blucrossblueshield etc.
